BIO

Brittni McDonald is a musician from Salt Lake City, Utah. She held the Graduate Assistant position for the flute studio of Dr. Nicole Riner at University of Wyoming. This included acting as the instructor of record for non-major lessons as well as other studio responsibilities. She was also grateful for the opportunity to take part in UW’s ensemble opportunities, namely UW Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony.

Brittni received her undergraduate performance degree from the University of Utah. There, she was able to build a strong foundation with her peers and teachers. Her primary teachers included Dr. Nicole Riner, Lisa Byrnes, and Caitlyn Valovick-Moore.

Brittni always strives to maintain a successful private studio of all levels and ages. In her spare time, she loves reading, knitting, dog-sitting, or thrift shopping.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My main pedagogical goal is to cultivate a lasting and loving relationship with music in each and every student. This kind of relationship can manifest itself in many different ways, but I believe that an encouraging and positive atmosphere is one important aspect to achieving this.

I also believe that each student should clearly define their goals within the music world. I will help students to decide exactly where they would like to go with their musicality, whether that be competitions, master classes, college auditions or simply making improvements for their own satisfaction. All of the above are worthy goals and I love to see my students rise to the occasion. I strive to tailor my teaching style to meet these standards.

STUDIO POLICIES

I employ a few general policies in my studio so that things go as smoothly as possible.

If you must cancel a lesson, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.
Current payment is mandatory for each lesson. I will be unable to fulfill a lesson if payment is not current.
Please make sure you are prepared for lessons, including sufficient practice and required materials/music.
